Furniture hunting in Guanacaste

Today’s itinerary was looking for pieces to bring back (we’ll ship, really) to NYC. we happened upon Artwood, which from a quick google image search, didn’t have an impressive front, but upon stopping in a checking it out, it seems the perfect woodworking custom-build shop! Just what we were looking for!

They specialize in reclaimed wood pieces, everything from Guanacaste (the wood that has a milky border with a dark brown middle), Rosewood, etc...lots of hardwood. They can custom-make pieces for you.

We took a tour of their workshop courtesy of the owner, Adam (he does a lot of the custom work himself under the creative tutelage of his mother, who he says is really the heart of the operation).
