St. Daniel's Church
Located at 3004 Court Street, Syracuse, NY 13208 - St. Daniel's Church in Syracuse, New York was established in 1932 as a result of the need for St. John the Baptist Church to expand. The first mass was held on February 19, 1933. The parish is named after Daniel Joseph Curley, who was the third Bishop of Syracuse from 1923 to 1932. During his tenure, he established 28 parishes, 18 schools, Loretto Rest, and Lourdes Hospital. He also approved financing for a new parish in Lyncourt, New York, which was later named St. Daniel's in his honor.
The original stained glass windows were used to enhance the stylistic design of the existing windows, blending the two eras together.
The modernistic marble altar sits upon the original altar site.
